Re: Board Updates Ongoing
please don't make opening links open a new window, right click open in new tab is much better than being forced to a new window ...
And the rss feed is still screwed goes to the first post not the last...
Otherwise I like the update

Re: Board Updates Ongoing
New window is better than same window. It should automatically go to new tab as well for those who have tabs. I dont, and I dont like them. Therefore I want a new window, as Im sure others do as well.
There's no way anyone should ever have to click two things to go to a new tab or window. Its something that should be set in the forum programing so the forum window/tab stays open and independent. It makes browsing far easier.

watkins, I open the rss feed in firefox... 30 tabs I don't want more... use middle click if you want a new windows, it's not hard it's actually good web practices to let the user choose to open a page the same window or another, forcing the user to have a new window is annoying. obviously you're not a web designer.

i'm not a web designer but i am a web developer and we always make external links open in a new window so as not to take the user away from the application.Bawked wrote:watkins, I open the rss feed in firefox... 30 tabs I don't want more... use middle click if you want a new windows, it's not hard it's actually good web practices to let the user choose to open a page the same window or another, forcing the user to have a new window is annoying. obviously you're not a web designer.

It can still be tweaked, if you're willing to take the time.wannabe wrote:what if the mouse has no middle button (say laptop)Leedeth wrote:http://www.w3.org/WAI/wcag-curric/sam77-0.htm

Re: Board Updates Ongoing
But it's not good web design...
How can you have 50 tabs open, damn. If it gets up to the point where the tabs start compressing (about 7), then I start getting overloaded. And if I have enough open so that I actually have to scroll through the tabs, horizontally...well, that only happens when I'm opening a bunch of pics.

You using Firefox? You can change the settings to make new windows open in new tabs instead.Bawked wrote:please don't make opening links open a new window, right click open in new tab is much better than being forced to a new window ...

Re: Board Updates Ongoing
Middle button goes to scroll by mouse movement. Not changing it. Just stop whining. As Jomo said, a new window makes sense from the site's point of view. And you seem to be the only person complaining. Must mean youre the one with the problem. And how the hell do you have 50 tabs? Youre not the rule, youre the exception.Bawked wrote:Dude I had 50 tabs open... i didn't want more and ctrl+left click is like open in new window aswell laptop people...
And Ctrl (actually Shift on my comp) is an extra button that theres no reason to hit. Once again, youre the only one with a problem, so why dont you tweak it on your own machine and let the rest of us who like to keep a SS window or tab open do so.

Re: Board Updates Ongoing
I prefer new tab/window when clicking on a link.
Makes browsing faster. I usually don't have more than 3-4 tabs open and I don't see why I would need to, either.

It's all personal preference. I have over 40 tabs opened right now, so I can just Ctrl+Tab through them. Six a one . . .

Re: Board Updates Ongoing
I usually like to keep my tabs down to 10 or less. I think 40 would just drive me insane.
