I fly home this wednesday, you bastages!
After a two month trip I'm ready to hang out with my dog, ride the motorcycle and maybe see the girlfriend.

Tony, ah, nobody told you? With all that rain, Texas washed downstream into Mexico. Your dog barks in Spanish now.AHTOXA wrote:I fly home this wednesday, you bastages!

Almost, but not quite. My favorite local trail has finally reopened since forever ago and I'm going to freaking ride it when I get back!Rope-Pusher wrote:Tony, ah, nobody told you? Anyone else get locked out of the site and have to reset their password? It was very odd, password I've been using the whole time here (rote memory typing by this point) no longer worked.

Yeah, like the time the keyboard fairy landed on the cap-lock key when I wasn't looking.

KIEKERT PUTS BRAKES ON DOOR DINGS - From Autoline Daily
Our cars are already able to detect objects and brake automatically, but what if the same philosophy could be applied to other parts of the car? Technology supplier Kiekert has developed a system that detects objects in a car door’s path and prevents the door from hitting it. Called i-protect, the system uses a sensor to detect any stationary object and then sends a signal to a door brake. The brake is connected to the door arrester, which is sometimes called a door check or stay and will clamp down electromagnetically to keep the door from swinging into the object. No word if or when the system might hit the market. But just think. Annoying door dings could become a thing of the past......
...or you could become trapped in your burning vehicle because a bicycle is parked outside the door!

https://www.durangoutdoors.com/4x4/lime-creek-road.htm say's its pretty easy. but i can't see a tow truck going out there....better find a jeep with a winch tbh...AHTOXA wrote:First thing I thought of is the grade (slope) of road/surface where he was, as that can affect recovery greatly. It doesn't seem to fit exactly what you're describing though.wannabe wrote:hey tony, you used to off road, right?
What does a 0-10 grade mean? I had a member in lime creek colorado, he said he was 3 feet down a bank. the 006 (colorado) club said that if he's 3 feet down a 0-10 grade it may be out of pocket. we don't have much rock crawling off roading here, only mudding...

Great! It was nice picking him up from my friend's place. He was pretty stoked to see me. He's never been a face licker, not to me or anyone else, but he sure licked my face when I got back.tankinbeans wrote:How's Deputy Dawg?AHTOXA wrote:And I'm home!

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi
Have fun on the trail. I rode the trail today. The paved kind. Also have an 08 Giant Bike. I have the OCR 2. Had not had any flat tires on the bike in a year, but had Two last weekend. One on the front, and one on the back. I had to pull my old 1976 model Fuji bicycle back in service for the weekend. It is 10 speeds and 42 pounds, (with luggage rack) but is still pretty quick for an old steel frame bike. Don't know whey they discontinued the old 27 x 1 1/4 wheels that the Fuji has.
