it made mine much faster. highly recommendedThis is an old trick but it still works and even better with the newer versions.

Useful guide on speeding up FireFox for broadband users
1.Type about:config into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:
network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.
2. Alter the entries as follows:
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.
3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.
If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now!

Hope this helps anyone. I didn't think it was possible to make FireFox a better browser than it is but this definitely does.

Everything there and more, all automated, no having to manually configure anything.
"Fasterfox 2.0.0 could not be installed because it is not compatible with Firefox 3.0.7."
So its 3.0.7. either way, no worky

Re: make your firefox faster
Sweet, it loads faster now. Especially when I start up a browser and load my pages from last time, all my old pages come up instantly. It used to take like 10-20 seconds for them to come up. Awesome

Firefox Pwnage
I'm bumping a 2 month old thread cause I don't see a reason to make a new 1 .
Anyways, I customized my Firefox a bit and made it look a lot sleeker. I also made it so the stock Firefox downloader loads in a tab instead of a new window. I think it looks a lot better, :

Looks great. What's the trick to get the downloads to open in a tab?

The latest version, for Firefox 3.0, is hard to find and only on their website. It makes it pretty easy to control the stock Firefox downloader .
There's a few Firefox tweak guides up on the web, one of them gave me the ideas to slim down Firefox. So I won't explain how to customize it, you guys can go read one of the guides .

Thank you, that bit of information has pissed off many a webserver owner.Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.
