Why? Smoking is pretty pointless IMO. You pay money multiple times a week to inhale some smoke that makes you and everything you own smell like shit, and possibly endager your health to boot. You managed to make it 18(?) years without starting, why do it now for no real reason?

I already told you, to see what I'm missing out on.

But after smoking this cigarette, I didn't really get a good feeling out of it so I'm just going to stop now.

Also I regained my appetite.

Congratulations. You've experienced for yourself exactly what I tried to describe...that it's pretty pointless.

Now, if you keep trying it again and again, hoping to figure out what people find so compelling about it, you'll eventually realize that you can't stop (at least, can't stop easily).

Why did you take up smoking?
i took up smoking because i was 15, bored, and wanted to try something new.

Why not smoke cigars instead of cigarettes?
its more expensive (unless you buy cheap gas station cigars. backwoods, however, are decent for their price and they come in a pack. plus you feel like clint eastwood when you smoke these. ), you dont inhale, and it takes to damn long to finish (i do smoke them occasionally when i have the time)

Are cigars addictive like cigarettes?
it really depends on the person. if you have an addictive personality, anything can be addictive. for me, no.

Do you enjoy smoking?
yeah i enjoy smoking. in fact, nothing is better than lighting one up at 7AM while sipping on a hot cup of black coffee. or smoking a few while im having a few drinks with friends.

Is it hard to quit?
again, depends on your personality. i will say however, nicotine is one tough son of a bitch to kick.

Is it hard to quit just because of the addictiveness of the cigarette or is it also because you just love smoking so damn much?
there are alot of factors involved with smoking that will bring the smoker pleasure from the experience. there is the actual inhalation and exhalation sequence that satisfies the average smoker. for others, they savor the whole experience of buying of the pack, "packing" down the tobacco by striking the pack on a hard surface or on your other hand, taking it out, lighting it, and smoking it. theres also the social factor that comes into play.

if you do start though, id advise you to do this little demonstration i saw years ago:
1) light cig
2) enjoy a couple pulls
3) grab a tissue
4) take a pull but only use your mouth and do not inhale into your lungs
5) stretch the tissue out so its flat/flush against your mouth (like a screen) and exhale
- look at the tissue
6) grab another tissue
7) take a real pull now, a nice deep one and exhale through the 2nd tissue
- look at the tissue
- what you saw on the first tissue is now stuck in your lungs
8) decide whether you want to continue or quit while your ahead

i dont just smoke cigs though, i also enjoy the herb and thats a whole different story. the buzz from a cig and the buzz from nice herb is quite different. the headrush you get from a cig hits you fast and hard like a punch to the face...herb on the other hand, eases you in and IMO is a MUCH better rush/high than a cig.

oh and another thing, you will die just as fast smoking lights and you would with regulars so if your gunna kill yourself, you might as well enjoy full flavor. i would suggest your first cig be a light one though so you wont get sick if you smoke it too fast. but later on go regulars baby, more precisely, camel turkish gold 8) . sleek box design, cool waffle filter, smells like raisins when you open the pack, and a smooth and rich flavor going down. mmmm, cancer.

I feel a bit lightheaded. But I feel a bit queasy as well, like I want to throw up. I could play games normally but I was a bit restless. I definitely have lost my appetite.

Is this what you're supposed to feel when you smoke?

What do you smokers feel when you smoke?
oh damn, i missed this post. well it looks like you smoked it too fast, or took too deep of a pull. was it a regular or light? empty stomach?

not what you just experienced. lightheaded, yes. sick, no.

Chris, what kind of cigarette did you smoke? Give me the brand, and the variety.

Regular, empty stomach.

Canadian Classics is the brand. I think it's regular because it doesn't say light on the pack.

Get some Marlboro Lights or something. If you're gonna smoke, smoke some nice shit.
I either roll my own or get Marlboros or Camels, Winstons when I'm in a cash pinch.

Or, smoke a pipe.
Pipe = win.
