Fuel System Cleaning Additives

I see products labelled Fuel Injector Cleaner and others labelled Fuel System Cleaner. What, if anything is the difference? Which one is the better product to use? For the record I got Techron Fuel Injector Cleaner as it was over 20% cheaper than the system cleaner of same brand. Can't imagine that injector cleaner would not help the overall fuel system, though it may be designed to get at a different kind of deposit, those laid down in a high heat environment vs the relatively cool environment of the remainder of the fuel system.

When using these products doe the cleaning action work when the treated fuel is flowing through the system, or does it also work when the engine is off and the treated fuel is just sitting in the system? My thinking is that during this Covid work-at-home thing, I am not driving much but having the cleaner in teh fuel will give it tons of residence time to soak into nasty deposits and help loosen them.

Eye spose if one, or two, knew that the fool infectors theyselfs were Dirty, Gummy, Weepy, Drippy, Sticky , or those other two dwarfs, then the injector cleaner is what should be bought.

I don't know if pick-up screens, pumps, lines, regulators, etc. get to a point where they need some chemical massaging or not, but ifso fatso, then a system cleaner might be the butter choys.

Can't say I ever had any of this stuff make a difference in any car I have owned. Maybe it is fool injector cleaner because it fools people. Just like the guys who say the engine runs better after an oil change.
