Lol....edmunds has you all wrong, man. I guess you have to reevaluate this whole outcome. My very first car was a 94 Chevy Corsica with the same 3.1 V6 that your sunbird has. It was rated at 160hp and 185lbft of tq....so I think its safe to say that the sunbird will win, now. As long as the ford doesnt win, I will be happy

No one has won yet... I keep egging her on to race me and she won't do it... Sorry to get all your hopes up, but she made it sound definate that we were on.
Good news!
I beat a 1995 Toyota Celica GT
2.2L i4 vs. my 2.0L Mazda i4
It was my friend and hes got 2 people in his car, but he has NO SPARE and a ton of mods (exaust, cold air, etc). I seen the other light turn yellow and i revved to rougly 3500 and when the light hit green I dropped the cluth like a hot potato! I peeled out and so did he... First gear got me barreling off the line quickly and out .5 cars infront of him... Then I made a mistake and hit the revlimiter at 6500RPMs.
I powershifted into 2nd and the car squawked the tired AGAIN. So by now I was going about 50 and im redlining 2nd and I powershift into 3rd and I all of the sudden Im pulling ass and as soon as im at a safe distance infront of him I pass him and OWN his TOYOTA Celica.
The car (cellica) was an automattic though.. So I think that's the story would've been differant if the tables were turned.

My last car was a 1993 Chevy Lumina Euro edition. It had the same 3.1 liter OHV V-6 as the sunbird. Let me tell you that car was torquey and jumped off the line like a bat out of Hell...and it weighed a hefty 3300lbs. I had fun burning the tires on my old car. I never had a problem pulling into traffic with that beast. Not alot of high end power though. The sunbird weighs a lot less than the Lumina and has the same power AND a manual tranny vs my Lumina's 4 speed auto. My Mom used to own a 1998 ZX2 and I can't remember how it drove cause that was years ago but she currently owns a 2000 Mercury Mystique with the same 2.0L Zetec as the ZX2. The 2.0L had little low end power but loved to rev up to the redline and it was a sweet sounding engine. My money is on the Pontiac simply b/c I think my Lumina would probably beat a ZX2 in a drag race and the Ponitac is lighter than my Lumina with all the same power. Drivers race really and anything could happen but IMHO I'd put money on the Pontiac.
