Volkswagen Mk1 Rabbit GTI in 24 Hours of Lemons

Post by GarySheehan »

This car was a hoot to drive! The high steering ratio made it a handful to control oversteer, as you'll see at 16:30. Plus this car had no rear brakes. The rear brake lines were literally disconnected and the ports in the master cylinder were plugged due to an incomplete brake upgrade (sheesh!). Despite being gentle with the shifter and double-clutching all my downshifts, we still ended up with transmission issues that took us out of the race.
