..And the Winner is....Miss Nomer!

Post by Rope-Pusher »

Why do they call it "The Safety truck"?

The front of the Izod IndyCar Series field got a scare on Sunday during the Baltimore Grand Prix when a safety truck scrambled to get out of the way at the start.

The truck was hustling to a turn-one parking spot when the green flag waved. The truck passed the first two rows of cars from the opposite direction. Fans seated in Grandstand 7 gasped.

The IndyCar drivers who saw the truck were caught off guard, too.

"Yeah, it was like, what's going on?" pole sitter Will Power said. "I couldn't believe it.

"I was busy trying to pass but I thought, what happened there? That was quite amusing, but it wouldn't be if someone hit them."

I bet the driver of the safety truck was like this after he got off the track right before the cars hit him:

And then he got the shakes from adrenaline.
