What is this, and can I beat it?
Hes getting new body kits and paint job on it, and then he wants to race me. i think his engine is a 2.4L according to his facebook, so I've got the displacemnt battle won, thats for sure. I just dunno if I can beat him. Not a real street race type thing, just a 0-60 spring or something getting on the highway or w/e.
edit: I just found out that its apparently a cavalier Z24. I should have no problem spanking a cav, but what do you guys think?

haha. I figured I could beat him.
I've also got a friend with an eclipse. non-turbo, and the only mods hes got are 3 inch exhaust and a short shifter. think I could beat it as well? its one like this:
his has the lump on the hood like that one, what exactly is that. never figured it out.

yeah, and because having a V6 as big as mine, and getting beat by some tiny ass 4 banger (we're not talking F/I here, that woudl wipe mine off the fac of the planet), is cause to just take my car to the junkyard.hockeystyx16 wrote:cuz loosing a street race is embarrasing, no matter who you raced.. especially if other people are there waching.
The only bad thing about having the faster car in a race, is that the cops always go after the guy who's winning.

I had a J-body Chrysle(92 Lebaron GTC convertible) and I accidentally stumbled onto a sight for J-bodied General motor cars ala Sunfires, Cavaliers, sunbirds, etc... and those guys were not friendly at all. They flamed each other and were pretty much Nazis. They believed that their 2.4 Cavalier Z24 could beat Celica GT-S's and Integra Type R's if all were stock. I'm not a fan of Cavy's and Sunflowers but in a race between a 2.4 Cavalier Z24 and a 94-98 Mustang V6 it's gonna hands down be the Cavy. If it was a base model 2.2OHV I-4 Cavalier then you'd wipe the floor with his @$$, but the Z24 is a pretty quick little car.
Here's some info I found on the two cars. Weight figures are rounded off:
Cavalier Z24 Convertible:
2800 pounds
150hp 150 lb/ft torque
0-60mph: 8.7
1/4: 16.8
Mustang V6
3000 pounds
150hp 215 lb/ft torque
0-60mph: 9.9
1/4: 17.3
The Z24 coupe should be a bit quicker than the convertible but if he's a good driver he'll more than likely win. The mustang is a torquester for shure, but it's a heavy beast. I'd root for you anyways cause I like stangs better than j-bodys.

My car is a J-body!!!
It also happens to be quite nice, thank you.
Not all J-bodies are badly modded...
Mine will be quite nice with a short-shifter, CAI, cluster swap, and a brand new paint job. That's all I need to do to it. Now, a turbo wouldn't be too bad. However, a governor is a governor, and I don't want to pay for the upgrades necessary to remove it...
Anyway...
2013 Ford Fiesta + a bike and a land yacht which are in pieces.
