Re: Trying to get a feel for an audi clutch
tiny meaning if you were in neutral just sitting there and you pushed the gas pedal in and right when you start to hear/see the rpms rise. basically just enough to keep the rpms from falling so fast while shifting. and yeah thats gonna happen if you cruise in first. i try to get into second as its a...

Re: Trying to get a feel for an audi clutch
adding a tiny bit of gas as you let the clutch up is fine. it makes the rpms fall slower thus giving you move of a chance to clutch out just right. its fine as long as you arent power shifting. 2nd, are you talking about getting in first and accelerating like normal, or being in first and slowly inc...

Re: Howdy
Thanks everybody. I know it shouldn't be too bad learning to drive, cause when I say I'm living in South Carolina, I mean rural, middle of nowhere Carolina, lol. And my street, tho narrow (narrow is even in the name) is long and straight and the speed limit goes up to 55. meaning I'll be doing 60. ...

Re: NEWB
holla. congrats on the dub. we're takin over  . yeah esp on the passats, keep up with the oil changes and use synthetic. its the longitudinal motors that have the biggest sludging problems. also, with a cai, make sure your not driving through puddles. not to mention when the air gets to the tu...

Re: Boston Area: anyone want to help?
learning in Boston, ouch. thats no fun. maybe if i head to one of my buddies place down there ill give you a quick lesson or two. but all you really gotta do is get a feel for the catch point of the clutch and practice. if you learned once, it should be fairly easy to pick it back up again. What car...

Re: "Business casual" driving shoes?
if a situation comes up where im wearing flip flops and need to drive, i scoot my seat up one click and take them off. i hate driving with them on, but love driving when they are off. feeling the pedals and the car vibrations through the clutch is awesome IMO.
