Re: Shifting into 2nd, 4th, and 6th feel mushy?

So I got it towed to a mechanic and he was able to "pump" the clutch then it will shift, but you have to do thatevery time. He said my master slave was never replaced when I had my clutch replaced last time which is BS they didnt do it at another place, but w/e. However, he's saying master...

Re: Shifting into 2nd, 4th, and 6th feel mushy?

Sounds like clutch not disengaging fully. Does the clutch pedal feel any different? If you park on a slight hill in gear and step on the clutch does the car roll? Well, like I said, if I turn car off and put in gear, then turn on and go in 1st, it engages into first fine. Clutch feels pretty much s...

Re: Shifting into 2nd, 4th, and 6th feel mushy?

So got to my house yesterday, thankfully made it home from work, and cant get shfiter into any gear. This is months after cable replaced. I can yank it into gear but will just viciously grind which i had to do once or twice to move it in place. If i throw it into gear with car off and then then try ...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Yeah think just going to keep it. And trust me, I don't let the dealer do any work on car besides oil or wheel alignment. I have a good mechanic who I'll bring car to. Only reason why I bring it to Honda for that is because my parents have been getting cars from them for years so they always get cou...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

If you like driving it and it seems solid mechanically, it's a pretty solid rig for racking up the miles. You'll depreciate anything newer like mad driving it that much, and it's reasonably efficient, too. Agreed. Would be nice to get new car also to build credit but I'd be putting so many miles on...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Has it been a reliable runner? Would you trust it to go 500 miles per week with regular upkeep? Anything new you get will require the same types of maintenance items in addition to a car payment. I'd lean toward keeping; CAVEAT I have the new/different car bug and have trouble taking my own advice....

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

So not sure if I should sell car or not.. little info: 04 TSX 124000 on it. I just got a new job with a long commute around 90 mile round trip. Yes going to blow but it's what I want to do and a great job for me as a recent grad. I have plans to move out within two years of parents. I'm not sure wha...

Re: Shifting into 2nd, 4th, and 6th feel mushy?

I've been researching and seems like a lot of Hondas (mines Acura but assume similar mechanics) the 2-4-R forks are shared.

I'm guessing something with linkage.. Is this a pricey fix?

Re: Shifting into 2nd, 4th, and 6th feel mushy?

My old clutch was same with low point. My pedal travel time is short as is. Well today seems as if I can DS to 2nd but only going into N first. Can't directly from 3rd. Maybe it just feels different and I'm not shifting it into 2nd and keeping foot on clutch too long which causes it to go into neutral

Shifting into 2nd, 4th, and 6th feel mushy?

Long time no talk here lol so got new clutch around 10K ago, i'll admit, it took some time breaking it in and since my friction point is all the way down I did grind gears some times, mainly 2nd and 4th. Never 6th though. These gears feel physcially different shifting into then 1, 3, 5 idk why. No s...

Re: I think my clutch just went

Why is it hard for me to shift with engine off and not pressing clutch? Normal with new clutch?

Re: I think my clutch just went

You may be hypersensitive to potential differences. Some resistance should be expected in that operation. Unless the dog teeth happen to be aligned perfectly on the gear you're trying to engage, the gears have to slightly realign themselves as they go in, and this is even more potentially resistant...
