Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Had experience with current UConnect. It’s good, but not the end all as often portrayed online.

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Leeches ES something something. Edit: why do those graphics look like they'd fit well in the Windows 3.1 operating system? Toyota's infotainment isn't great. Granted, they have done better with some of the '19 models, but my '19 4Runner isn't much better, really. That and the 6.4 inch screen are......

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Eye yam sew prowd off maboy. Drove out to Richard Bong State Recreation Area in Wisconsin, pulling my Coleman pop-up camping trailer, to take my 3-year-old grandson camping. Trailer is 2,650 Lbs. empty - I'm guessing that it is easily over 3,000 Lbs. with everything we had packed in it. Not all the...

Re: I'm starting to get depressed about the automotive future

I've always been a fan of the manuals and I've driven them for a long time. Up until a few years ago I didn't even consider buying a new car if it wasn't automatic. And that hurt my selection big time. But things have changed, and I was forced to change with them. Now, I've not abandoned my love of ...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Overall in regards to CO, this is still the plan. It got delayed a little bit since the new job was found here rather than in CO, but I think it's rather temporary. The GF is moving into my apartment this coming weekend (  ). We are riding out the end of my lease, which is at the end ...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

I guess I better update the vehicles in my sig and the profile while I'm at it. what does ORP stand for?? Off Road Premium. There are Off Road and Off Road Premium trims of the TRD spec. Not much difference, just some creature comforts. Started a new job last week. Left the massive international co...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Started a new job last week. Left the massive international company for a much smaller one of ~160 people. The culture change is massive, which is exactly what I was looking for along the standard new job must-haves and nice-to-haves and what not. The politics, the power-plays and the red tape reall...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Casting off for Durango, CO in the morning. Sadly not yet moving to CO but just a vacation. Got a car it with some friends and gf family; gonna be a good time. I was hoping to explore the passes a bit more this year (driving the 4Runner) but I’m seeing reports of floods and mud up at elevation. It a...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

With the two door, the wheelbase is going to be the limiting factor for towing. I think the reality is that most people don't pay very close attention to tongue weight or overall payload number; they just take the max trailer weight number published and go off that. And as you know, tongue weight, ...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

I have finally confirmed that the Jeep doesn't mind towing. Put about 2100 pounds behind it (that little 1200 lb capacity Harbor Freight trailer is a champ) and it did quite well both acceleration and braking. Being a two door, the tow rating is only 2000 lbs, but I see no reason that it couldn't h...
