^ How are you going to prioritize the items on that list? Seems like pulling the bumper can be pushed back especially since hot weather is gone for a season, unless the headlights are much needed for night driving, which winter brings a lot of. Alignment might be a top priority, but probably had to do the suspension drop first so it does not affect the alignment if done later?

Then the inspection is probably a mandate, so may require a few of the listed items be done first. We have no inspections here in Michigan, though I once had the police inspect my front tires and tell me they need to be replaced. They were nearly bald! That was in the 1970s when I got pulled over as a suspect for hitting a mailbox that I did not hit.

The nifty thing about having three cars shared between two people is that I can just park mine on ramps and start tearing in to things. Maybe spend a half hour every day after work getting things done. I'll likely ignore the valve cover and crank leaks until my next oil change. If I do it all together at work it will make life easier. The bumper, exhaust, and suspension stuff takes priority. I won't pass inspection with my summer tires anyway, so I'll wait until I swap to my winters and get a sticker.

Next house must have additional parking. I only have room for two cars in the garage and don't want to block them in with another vehicle in the driveway. Would be great to have a little manual Miata to wrench on after the workday is done. :D

Hi Watkins, good to see ya! Been a minute, eh? All is well, how's things going?

Admittedly not driving a manual these days, I had my 5 spees Mazda3 up until about a year ago. COVID made it too juicy to pass up buying a lightly used Stinger, which the wife can drive and is much safer for my daughter to ride around in. Also got a new bike several years ago, then sold it early this year too.

I don't know why, but StandardShift popped into my head this morning and I thought, why not see what's the good word? Did I miss anything?

I have a soft spot for Stingers, so I really can't fault you for that one at all.

Things are as they tend to be; monotony with some bits of interest. Such is life, I suppose.

SS is pretty much the same it's always been, aside from some changes in users. Some have gone, some have joined, some are in and out. Not sure why I'm still here, but whatever. Just a tab I open on my work laptop from time to time.

stingers do look nice. knot shore eye could bring myself to buy a kia, but maybe that's just me. if anything, the newer kias look much nicer than most of the newer hyundais that look like they were designed by aliens.

SS has been relatively dead compared to how it was back in the day, but there are a few members who keep it alive, like watkins, rope and the clutch family. where's noob at? tony?? :o

What a nice reunion. I have no idea what made me come check standardshift. Amazing that the board is still going!

I also haven't been driving a stick :(. My fiesta ST was totaled. I picked up a C8 in November which only is available with a DCT.

Holy crow bro, how have you been?! Idk why I come in here either, maybe just force of habit, or some weird gravity-like force. Didn’t you have a Passat and or a GTO at one point in time a few year back? Could be mixing you up with someone else…are you the Porkchop??

Hi Rob! Hope all is well with you and yours. Yeah I guess there's no other way to come back, other than to come back. Great to see there are still some of us lurking the forums, especially as a lot of folks have moved on to automatics. Whatcha riding around in now?

How's that C8 treating ya? Out of my budget but if it was just me, a C7 wouldn't be far off. 8)

currently driving a '16 subaru forester xt. as most people don't know, it only came w/ a cvt for the last generation. you could get it with a manuel before the last generation, then you couldn't get an xt at all for the current gen. i wouldn't want to daily a manuel anyway, especially a subaru manuel. the cvt works well overall with the engine; it has si drive, meaning it has sport mode and then sport # mode, which is insane. i usually let it shift itself when i switch to sport # mode, but i did switch it into manuel mode the other day on some twisties, which brought the engine to life. driven around in regular intelligent (or individual, depending on who you ask) mode, it doesn't seem much quicker than the non-turbo forester, unless you put your foot down.

i used to say i'd take a C5, as i love the looks of those, but a C6 would probably be a smarter choice at this point... :?
