New England Winter Break Meet

Post by watkins »

So how 'bout it?

Sometime the last week of December or first two weeks of January.
The good thing about New England is that nothing is far. Lets get something together. I know I have a few outside friends who would be interested. Neither of them has a stick at the moment, but we're a nice group of eliteists, right?

i'd be down with this; just please don't make it the same time as the nj/li meet (whenever that ends up being) unless it's in the same place

Nah, thats before xmas, Im going for after.

Somewhere not in CT would be best, seeing as CT roads/traffic are notoriously bad. It can be figured out once more people show interest.

Ive made the drive to Amherst from North Andover in 1 hour 25 minutes. Its not that bad to get to western Mass.

Anywho, I personally am willing to go 2ish hours, maybe a little more depending.
I've actually never been to Boston but, based on what I've heard, it probably wouldn't be the ideal place to go cruising :?

Youre entirely right about Boston. Its horrible for driving, which is why I suggest somewhere outside off town. Im not really familiar with anything other than the northeastern corner of the state, so I might not be of much use for finding somewhere good for driving.

Come on guys, stick with over here
eaglecatcher wrote:The Mass Pike would be an awesome cruise. Cruise out to Worcester (or farth, dunno how long they want) and then head back into Boston.

If you guys were going to Boston, theres an Italian Restaurant called Giacomo's in the North End, stellar food. Then there are the two best bakeries in Boston a few steps away for desert.

But boston is a ways away from NYC ain't it.
The pike isnt fun at all. Its expensive (though the Penna Pike is way worse) and all it is is a highway.

One of my favorite roads is Rt 202 and Prescott Rd/ Cooleyville Rd/ Leverett Rd/ Shutesbury Rd. out by Amherst. Mountain roads with great scenery and fun twisties.

Would you be able to make it to the tentative spring meet somewhere in or around PA?

Would have to depend on area and time. During the start of January is when my midterms and papers begin  I'm coming from Rochester, btw.

Ive got a friend out there. Thats a pretty good drive. I know what you mean about midterms though. Be glad to have you for sure so that can be kept in mind.

I won't even let really close friends drive my car, nevermind some stranger on a message board. So chances of that happening are nil. But as for places to go, there are some good driving roads in southern NH like the Nashua/Salem area.
