FCA never said there were insurmountable challenges toward producing an Amish Charger. There's just not enough of a market for them to justify the investment in time and money.

I thought I remembered something about having selected a different floorpan for the sedans and wagons that lacked the clearance. Anything's surmountable with suitable budget and schedule, but trying to make a kit for the aftermarket that necessitates hacking up the floorpan would kind of be a coup de grace.

Meh. You're cutting a hole anyway; it might suffice to cut it a little larger, or maybe the transmission they recommend fits but isn't/wasn't readily available to Ford engineers when the car was in production.

Honda’s new 2.0-liter turbo will be the Accord’s upgrade engine, and it could be the most powerful in its class. Yet the news doesn’t end there. The new engine will come standard with a Honda-developed 10-speed torque-converter automatic (the first in a front-drive car), and both the 1.5 and 2.0 turbo engines will be offered with a six-speed manual. The leaves Accord and the Mazda 6 as the last bastions of the conventional manual among mid-sized sedans. Hallelujah.
