Now that is really creepy!
The DCT in Babe is pretty good, especially if you leave it in sport mode. I've read it's a jointly developed transmission with GM, but I've read conflicting information. The weird part is that while the guts are the same between my Escape and my roommate's Fusion the engine and transmission react differently and my transmission feels smoother.

I didn't realize your Focus was the double-clutch automatic. I test drove a Fiesta with that back when I was shopping. It was decent enough, just nothing exciting at all.

Not the Focus. Clifford was Amish, Babe is not Amish.

I don't know why I said Focus. I meant Escape. Apparently my brain thought you replaced your Focus with a Focus. It had a dumb moment, the rest of my body apologizes for the brain's stupidity.

Does the Escape have the same style dual-cluch auto transmission or have they gone to a CVT like everyone else is doing?

DCT, and a nice'ne at that. I wouldn't have looked if it were a CVT. Theoretically it was designed in conjunction with GM. It apparently has the same guts as the auto in the Cruze and Malibu.

Don't say that too loudly, they'll issue a recall.

Nope. Haven't for a couple months. Funny part is, after the lobotomy, I don't really miss it per se.
