There was a kid in the third grade who did that. He had to go to the hospital to get it out.
I guess then he was colored (and I don't mean that in a racist way)

Bad thunderstorm last night. The server is back up and sitting behind a UPS now.

It's always nice to have new features, but is it really necessary considering the fact that the average number of people online in the whole network is around... 5?

Halp!

I'm using LimeChat, a text-based IRC client for Mac.

If you haven't figured it out, it may be a problem with Limechat.
I personally like MacIrssi.
Here and here are the config details for it.
Also, the server wont accept nicks like that (error 432), it works if it's one solid word or underscored (ChrisH or Chris_H or something of the sort).

It was set to ChrisH. After I bounced between Mibbit, Xaqua Chat and Pidgin (Windows), I went back to LimeChat and it worked. Weird. At least I now have several ways of accessing SS IRC.

Yet another server upgrade... now with SSL support! Not that it really matters since nobody here seems to use SS Chat anymore.
You can still connect the old fashioned way -or- change the port number to 9001 (yes, yes, it's over 9000) and enable SSL in your IRC client.

Caveat:
By connecting to the IRC network using SSL, you can encrypt all data sent between you and the server. This means that you can create a secure line of communications with anyone else who is also connected to the server in this fashion. However, any text which you send to an individual not connected via SSL will travel via plaintext.
