I saw the Total Solar Eclipse today!

It wasn't this one:

I drove to Point Pelee National Park in Ontario and saw this one:

It was awesome, especially when the diamond ring showed abruptly two times. The sky got dark, the air got cold and windy, the birds started freaking out So much more wonderful than watching a partial eclipse. They had an astronomer from the University of Windsor give an hour-long presentation on what it's about, why it happens, the sheer coincidences that make it possible, how to view it safely, etc.

Point Pelee is a neat park to visit, with or without an eclipse. It's the southern-most point of Canada's land mass, projecting South into Lake Erie. Birds, bats, and even Monarch Butterflies migrate through the park each year.

I think I drove a Mitsubitty Eclipse one time - there was some noise associated with the shift cables that they wanted my opium on.

Speaking if sights, How about the new sign they put up to welcome folks coming in the the NFL Draft:

The world's biggest tire has been on the side of the freeway for decades. Now there's the "Hollywood Lettering" Detroit sign. They got a thing going now. What should be put up next....

Did the opium help the shift cables?

I have seen those giant shift levers. Here is one example:
