I did it. I bought a minivan...

Post by ClutchDisc »

Hey everyone! It’s been a long time since I logged on here. Yesterday I picked up a 2009 Mazda 5 with the five speed manual. The van is a blast to drive! Only 113k miles. The Fusion is a great car and I would have held onto it much longer but with two dogs now, it just wasn’t practical for carrying them safely. The Fusion will either be going to a friend or my neighbor.

How's your Van Go? It's got that ZOOM-ZOOM thing goin', right?

Really nice that you were able to stay within the faith. Should give you more than a few years of good smileage.

That shifter position reminds me of 1st Gen Jeep Compass / Patriot

My brother's friends all kidded him about becoming a soccer-mom until they went on a road trip in his minivan.

It is a mini mini van, very small. Holds 6 people but the last two have to have very short legs. I have same van (actually wife's) and our elbows are always bashing. That never happened in the Plymouth Voyager we had before that. Still, it is a good van. Light and very peppy with that 2.3L 16-valve DOHC.

Oh, for the good old days of DIN and double DIN when you didn't need a full model-specific dash kit to install a new radio...

Right? It took me 2 hours as I had to tear apart the entire center console to get to it.

I'm a guy who always liked minivans. I was considering a Mazda 5 with the manual transmission. I had a 1988 Ford Aerostar with a 3.0L V6 with a 5 speed manual, and a 1986 Dodge Caravan with the 2.2L I-4 with one. And another rarity, a 1980 Ford Club Wagon, 4.9L I-6 with a 4 speed manual on the floor.
