potownrob's "big" new whip

Post by potownrob »

it's been a long time coming (alas, 3 weeks is a long time to choose a car), but i finally selected, negotiated the price on, and picked up a new vehicle. i started out by looking at subarus, then i crossed the river and looked at hondas. first i wanted a fit. i almost got a fit. then i test drove something else that took my focus off the fit. then i tested something else that i ended up not getting despite it being a hoot to drive (civic si). without further ado, i present to you, my SS brethren, Smokey the Bandit:

Nice! I have a couple of friends that have "new" (last couple of years) Accords. They all seem to like their vehicles, even with their not-as-good-as-yours-transmission choice. How's the interior space feel compared to the CRV?

So an accord? I can't see the pics at the office.

Congrats, they are good cars. I like the Sport V6s.

"And thus he chirpeth the tires, shifting briskly into 2nd gear, of his OWN Accord."

Sounds almost Biblical

thanks. the Sport model is not a V6; it is almost as quick as a V6 accord though.

it is pretty huge inside, though it doesn't feel as big as it is, and it handles better than I would've ever expected.

I test drove the CVT accords before the sport manual came in (had to wait almost 2 weeks for it to come in from when the salesman told me it was on its way). The CVT models are quick too, even the lowly LX model with the slightly less powerful engine. They all handle very well and are quick and can be fun to drive.

Nice vehicle. Honda is one of the few to still offer a 3rd pedal in a mid-size sedan.

yeah, and based on reviews i've seen of the mazda 6 with manual, the accord manual could be the best in its class. not tooting, just saying. 8)

Rolled over 400 miles on the way home from work this morning. Look forward to redline shifts and chirping tires within the next week. :)

Do you drive a ton for your commute or did you travel over the holiday weekend? Or did the new vehicle come with a few hundred miles on it already?
