Well I'm American car guy, but I happen to get my hands on a eclipse for a good price that i couldn't pass up. The eclipse is part chrysler too, the motor is chryslers 420A. Had no choice in what tranny it came with. Just something to throw out there, a fast automatic will beat a stick any day.

Are you saying you can't beat it with a stick? Drive it over here and I'll beat it with a stick - a baseball bat!MustangFan424 wrote:Well I'm American car guy, but I happen to get my hands on a eclipse for a good price that i couldn't pass up. look at quarter mile times for any car in the era of your eclipse. standards were always faster. problem is you had to learn to drive themMustangFan424 wrote:a fast automatic will beat a stick any day.

Not talking about my eclipse. Mostly all drag cars are automatic. If you have a fast automatic and a guy who can drive stick, no matter how good the automatic will win.

Yah if you have an automatic V8, you can beat a stick shift Civic any day.

Re: Mitsubishi Eclipse 2G DSM Owners
Whats up with it? I had to do a number of things with this car already. Most major thing that happened was I had to change the transmission solenoid pack it completely took a shit on me and the tranny went into failsafe mode. I have an issue with the tranny on this car where if I drive it for a long period of time, turn the car off, then back on there is like a 2-3 second delay to go into Drive. This also happens sometimes when shifting into drive from Reverse. Only happens when the car is warm. Tranny fluid is brand new and is at the right level. It also did this with the old solenoid and fluid.mugen13 wrote:i've got a 96 eclipse gs, its kinda broke right now but congrats.

Re: Mitsubishi Eclipse 2G DSM Owners
How dare you pose questions regarding a slushbox on a standard shift site? We are elitist people and this offends us to the core. Inferior systems and frowned upon and so are the people using them. I kindly ask you to stop insulting us with this autotragic crap.
Just kidding. I'm bored.

Re: Mitsubishi Eclipse 2G DSM Owners
Appropriate questions about slushboxes are as follows:
- How can I do {action normally done with manual transmission} with my slushbox?
- How can I replace my slushbox with a row-your-own?
I would be happy to answer both types of question.
