Just took on a Mustang GT
So I'm cruising next to this big huge dude with his girlfriend. He decides to show off his rust-ang and I decide...hey...the roads are good, could be fun, I dont care if I win, I just want to race....I make the corner after the light turns green and light it up. I ended up almost redlining the car in 4th in a 35mph zone. I know what kind of power the GTs put out, but I have driven one (this is the model before the current) and thought that the engine was kind of lazy and I wasnt impressed. I don't know if it was an automatic or a stick, but if it was a stick I was definitely doing it better than he was. I'm from MT, so we have nothing better to do than drag race in our spare time. My best bud taught me everything I know about racing. I pulled up next to him and said "Didn't think an import could keep up with that thing, huh ?"....he just smiled and said "Sometimes, I guess "
It made my night.

How about not drag racing? The new eclipse and the 99-2004 mustang gt have about the same power levels, with the mustang being heavier.Quick question: what is it that your friend taught you in regards to racing?OzZyMaN2438 wrote: I'm from MT, so we have nothing better to do than drag race in our spare time. Sounds like you guys managed to hit some high speeds. You'll find your import will get better acceleration closer to the redline, while his GT have good acceleration towards the middle of his RPM range.
You did mention he was a big guy . . .
Was his woman rather round to boot?

- Throw the 130 lb ballast out the side door! The lighter, the better.
