Honestly, I don't think Toyota drivers are jerks so much as completely oblivious to those around them. Wandering onto freeways at under the speed limit, having brights on at all times, poodling in the left lane at under the limit. Most driver-driver interactions I encounter are Toyota/Lexus people who could be bothered to pay attention.

Oh how true that Toyota statement rings for me. If I see some doofus with brights on, it's typically a Camry. Sometime a Corolla or perhaps an Honda Accord somewhere there rounding out the top 3.

What's more, since we're on the subject of lights here, is that less than 50% of people turn on their lights when it's raining enough to keep wipers turned on. I've be on the highway when it's raining, and the column of water spray makes it even harder to see. Nope, people don't think to turn on lights. Doesn't even cross their mind.

The Sonic I used had one smart feature - it turned on all lights for you after 10 consecutive passes of the wipers.

He parked, came back to his car later, found the tire flat, attempted to change the tire himself, and the car shifted while jacked up.

he drove off the road with a flat tire, apparently parked on an incline in a parking lot, and attempted to change the tire himself, during which the car shifted (which it does, as lugs are hard to get off, which is why you're supposed to start them while car is flat on ground) and the jack got stuck....so then you call AAA.

yes. yes it is.

just took an update call....mbr called in at 10:15am central, its currently 3:11pm central...and it'll be another hour for service. his call got declined by all our contracted svc providers...one declined because "won't touch classic car". its a 73 austin mini, red. mbr is getting svc by a NONA (not contracted facility) so they bill us and we pay their rates....can't send a call to a NONA unless all providers decline and a supervisor approves the rates the station gives us.

One of my winter tires seems to be leaking. There's still some tread and studs left, and I can't afford a new set, but since the winter seems to be cancelled anyway, I guess I'm fine with topping it up once in a while. Nevertheless, I could have done without this issue as well. The car's turning out to be more expensive than expected.

In other news, less than four weeks until my two-and-a-half week winter holiday in Thailand. It's been ten years since my previous visit to Southeast Asia.

In other other news, it's December and it's warmer than it was in June. Gotta love Finnish weather...

Do you suppose it's a little early to call winter off? I'm on a forum for snowplowing/snow removal and those guys do the same thing, they all start crying in November and December that winter is a bust and they're gonna be broke...then we get buried in snow in February and they complain that there's too much work and they can't keep up.

I'm annoyed because my snow tires feel like a waste of money right now. Two of my summers look like they're wearing heavily, presumably those that were on front.

Two of your tires are wearing? Well, a lot of folks wouldn't admit that. It's nice you were up front about it.
