Rob, first snow in mid-October? Is that normal for you? We probably won't get snow until end of November at the earliest. We just get cold rain and then some frost overnight if the pattern holds.

Or just no moisture outside of frost anyway.
We had frost this morning - prolly first frost since before summer. No snow yet, but temps in the mid-2-high twenties the otter knight. What surprises me is that we've had weather similar to Atlanta and Charlotte - that's gotta be unusually cold for "down there", right?

Just looked up our average and record temps for the area for October according to the Weather Channel:

Avg. High: 68°F
Avg. Low: 47°F
Record Low: 20°F (10/28/1976)
Record High: 93°F (10/06/1941)

So yeah, having lows around freezing is below normal, though our highs have only been slightly below average - we've been getting over 60 most days. It's just a cold start and end to the day.

Granted, Kentucky is not the same as areas much further south. As my dad used to tell me from when he lived in Florida - they had frost one day and the city freaked out. We have frost every morning and are fine. They might be freaking out about the cold - it's just a little early for us.

we had a touch of falling (not sticking) snow on saturday, then yesterday around 4:30pm it was 70, today its a high of 66... (the upper lower and UP had sticking snow. a friend posted on fb "go away snow, i need to mow!" )

A friend in Geneese NY stated there was snow "all day" on saturday, so that sucks (he's kinda far from rob)

I am a fan of miniskirts but I don't think I want to see Tony in one.

Pretty sure Watkins has seen Tony's mother in one though.

no reason to mow anymore, unless your friend hadn't mowed in over a month...also, genesee (or geneseo, if that's what you meant) is in western ny and they get hit by the lake effect snow. i wouldn't be surprised if they're getting snowed on right now; their winter starts in september.

I do miss snow - up here in my part of PNW we just get fog and rain and the occasional hailstorm, but no fluffy whites. Still though, even just with a little rain in these temperatures my rear end gets pleasantly slidey, thanks to the summer tires that I refuse to switch out.

I feel bad for all y'all who've never experienced the joys of a slidey rear end.

I think RP is more worried that it's your particular slidey rear end. Not just anyone's slidey rear end.
