They went through a telegraph stage for a few weeks for long distance communication, but it got a bit gawky and the Model A's ride was a bit too choppy for reliable communication.

I have an Otterbox case for my Motorola Droid Razr. It turns this thin flat slab into a bulky monster. Also, the non-slip rubber makes it extremely difficult to put in/take out of my pocket. The thick screen protector doesn't seem like it would do much more than a common adhesive one, and yesterday I removed it because it was annoying and difficult to see through.
It sure is protective for drops and stuff though!

I feel the same way towards the Otterbox and similar cases - they make the phones huge. My Note II is already a very large phone (5.95 x 3.17 x 0.37 in; 5.5" screen) and I don't want to add any more to that dimension. What I use is a screen flap. It's basically a metal flap covered in cloth, which is attached to the back cover (a one-piece design) and closes like a book over the screen. It keeps the weight and size to a minimum, while covering the screen. It only protects the screen and offers no protection from falls or spills.
