Glad to see the forum still kicking. Also, I figure since a lot of the guys I remember still post, I have a question. I did a brake job for my car not too long ago, but this problem just cropped up. Car squeaks now and then when I take off from a dead stop or when putt putting around at slow speeds. Now the problem is that it doesn't always happen, which is what is giving me a headache. I had replaced the slides because they were stuck the few times I checked them. Problem still persists. I can't really think of anything else involving the front end of the brakes, except maybe the piston, but even when I did the brake job, I had even wear on both sides . I guess next week I'll check the rears and see.

no expert ( ), but i'd imagine it could still be from the pads breaking into the rotors; otherwise, maybe some anti-squeak lube would help?? are you running ceramic pads?? the only car i had a real squeaking problem with was the 96 accord when i had all 4 rotors and pad sets replaced. it was squeaking almost constantly for a few months (sometimes it would go away for a while)

I did a full brake job, fronts and rears(at different times) . The noise had actually gone away once I did the rears(so it didn't just pop up lol) . For a long time, actually. So maybe I'm looking in the wrong area. I'm not too worried about it but I would like to figure it out before it becomes a real problem. I'm not smelling any burning brakes, which is good. Like I said, I'll take the back tires off this weekend and make sure nothing came loose or something.
