banned from a forum without notice or reason

Post by dakta1420 » Sun Apr 13, 2014 12:54 pm

I was a member at bob is the oil guy. Have been for awhile. Was having a conversation with some guys on there about lifters and ticking ect. No cussing no arguing nothing. Well I was off for about 3 hrs and when I went to check on it it said I was permanently banned and didn't have a reason. So i decide to try to see what may have been said on my thread while I was gone well it was completely erased as well. Has anything like this ever happened to any one? I'm very confused about the board. Lots of Wana be John Waynes on there but it's also a knowledgeable forum which is why I went on there but I guess not any more. .......

I haven't spent much time there lately. I can only suggest that you ask Helen, the site owner what happened--if you can contact her. Maybe I could forward a message to her from you if you wish. Actually, she may not know, it may be one of the moderators. Sorry to hear that they booted you off.

I guess if I did something to justify it i would accept it. But nothing to my knowledge happened......I thought maybe the site was having some type of fluke.... I don't know bitog is a very strange place. It's great for knowledge but if you aren't the in crowd but are around frequently they will find reasons to hate you.

Bummer. Forum communities can be full of drama, and moderators can get confused, or sometimes you can break a rule that you had no idea exists and can't imagine. I've been on both sides of that and it sucks almost as much as a moderator as it does as a user.

something doesn't add up here - that's like if you got banned from here for no apparent reason - that would be outrageous, no?!? at least here they warn you before banning you and you get fired for a real reason (and then come back with a different name).

Thankfully I've never had an issue here. People seem to be more laid back around for here.

Agreed. This forum is awesome! Much more laid back and welcoming to new members. And you don't have to feel like you are in a clique.

Agreed. It's nice that we all have a common interest and don't blindly attack others because they do something different or because they asked a question you know. And now since you know the answer you feel the need to bash them blindly. Nothing like the Internet to make great friends lol

Our community is odd. It's small and doesn't have many transients. Many of the regular here have met one or more other member in person and have a story or two to tell. And it's true, we don't usually have a clique attitude on here.

Pepe Lopez and his retarded friends Admiral Nelson and Evan Williams come to mind.
