Will actually be my first winter with stick / with my new car. Might actually be for the best I wasn't always great at managing 240 lbft torque going through the front wheels at like 2000 RPM.

Any 'gotchas' that I might not expect?
practice shifting into 2nd early - don't be surprised if you lose traction shifting at your normal shift points while driving on snow and/or ice, at least on the 1-2 shift. expect to understeer more too. most other things are similar to how they would be in an automatic.

Definitely glad i don't have to deal with salt on the roads any longer. It's great.

Only infrequently. Salt and cold and snow and sleep and stupid drivers that act like they've never seen snow are far more constant.

You keep the rust and I'll look to buy old Jeeps that aren't rusted like swiss cheese.

I can see neither of us will win this one. Hehe.

My friends mom actually drives a Chrysler, Eagle Vision, with 250k on it. Not site of original gubbins, but that's good for a Chrysler.

Here they do. In my immediate area there are at least 3 CJ's. Granted one's a frame off resto wheeler but the other two are original. I checked during my dog walks. They are not swiss-cheesed.
