It was freezing and windy and with the angle of the sun I couldn't see what I was doing so I gave up on the greasing.

I'm thankful for having a heated garage for working on the car in the winter!

Buying a house that did not have a garage and two bathrooms was a huge mistake. So was buying into the market just before it crashed. I am stuck with it.

Uhg, I know that situation all too well. I have a furnace in my garage, but still I hate doing grease jobs. Usually I have the shop do the grease job when the vehicle is in for some reason. But you have to be very clear "DO NOT CHANGE THE OIL" because these shops are so used to doing oil change and grease job together that they WILL change your oil if you only ask them to lube the chassis. I know because it happened to me once.

Most of my vehicles get the oil changed once a year (checked a bit ago, 2500 miles combined between the bike, truck, and firebird) except the wifes mazda which might get it twice a year (10500 last year but 90% highway). It's going up though since I now live 8 miles from work instead of 1.

I use mobil 1 oil and wix filters on everything.
Bike gets M1 motorcycle oil.
truck gets 5W20, bike gets 10W40, both cars get 5W30
Except the mower which gets some M1 7500 I picked up from oreilly on clearance for sub $1/qt

JK JK, good stuff. I need to change the oil in the Civic. The Fiesta is still a couple thousand miles off from a change. I'll probably look to find a nice weekend in a couple of months to change the Fiesta's oil.

Changed the oil again in the Miata about a month ago with Valvoline MaxLife synth blend again, 5W-30. Continued using a new Purolator PureOne yellow filter.

So far this is my favorite combo in the Miata. Good fuel economy, solid oil pressure, minimal ticking, and it seems to consume/burn a lot less than it did with any other oil, especially when I had Rotella T6 in there.

2001 Ranger 2.3L today. Wix filter and 4 qts 5w20 Amsoil Signature Series synthetic. Same as last change, which went 7200 miles, Current mileage is 89,700 at time of change. Changed in garage with furnace running.

I tend to lean toward valvoline for both of my vehicles. Not any real reason why, just something about it that I like. Although I put castrol gtx in the camaro this time. I use either ac delco or purolator filters. The S10 gets changed at 3-4k miles and about the same for the camaro.

I use AC Delco and Purolator filters too. I would use all AC Delco but the filter for wife's car is a newfangled one that has no can, just the element, and costs something like $10 for AC Delco vs. $3 for Purolator.

I have my doubts though. If you read up on AC Delco filters, some good evidence exists that they're actually not good quality. QC is definitely iffy. I have to open the box in the store to make sure I can see nothing wrong; often I find burrs or shavings on the threads. Considering that, I can't say I know why I keep buying them...that's a really compelling reason not to buy them, who knows what's wrong inside if that can be found on the outside.

I like Valvoline, but will sometimes go with Amsoil for top of the line synthetic (their Signature Series).
