Re: The MPG thread
Did a bunch of highway driving at 75-80mph with some traffic mixed in. Averaged 26.5ish. Not terrible considering the weather, lack of proper boost, and VERY heavy winter wheels and tires. I generally like to see closer to 30mpg highway though

Re: The MPG thread
26.1 my last tank 75% suburban driving winter blend.
Over the past 3 months I'm averaging 27.4 and 27.8 over the last ~6000 miles. Overall, not too upset. I'm within real world variation of the combined value and the winter blend is pulling it down a bit.

Re: The MPG thread
this malibu barbie rental car has the instantaneous and average mpg screens. got the average up from 23.7 when i picked it up to about 23.9 now by watching the instant mpg and adjusting to keep it high. surprised the average stays so low though based on how high it is through most of my drives. the car also has the tire pressure monitor and i added air when i saw how low the pressures were. the car rides nice btw.

Re: The MPG thread
Rob pretty much answered it. Yes! There's a 3-4 page on and off discussion about it in the misc thread.

Re: The MPG thread
With a rental car, you have no idea when the calculator was last re-set. I think I put about 150 miles on the last rental car I had before I looked up how to re-set the calculator and only managed to creep it up 4 or 5 mpg. After the re-set, it jumped another 5 mpg and stayed there.potownrob wrote:this malibu barbie rental car has the instantaneous and average mpg screens. got the average up from 23.7 when i picked it up to about 23.9 now by watching the instant mpg and adjusting to keep it high. surprised the average stays so low though based on how high it is through most of my drives. the car also has the tire pressure monitor and i added air when i saw how low the pressures were. the car rides nice btw.

Well, congrats for getting the car you love. You should have started a new thread about it...94Corolla5Speed wrote:Rob pretty much answered it. Yes! There's a 3-4 page on and off discussion about it in the misc thread.

Re: The MPG thread
I will in a bit, just need to get some halfway decent pictures of it. Keep an eye out on the member's car forum.Shadow wrote:Well, congrats for getting the car you love. I've still never measured my fuel economy. It's not very good, though .
