Fast Highway Entry Launch?

Sorry to bring a sorta dead thread up but:

If you need to launch fast to turn during a green light at an intersection, then obviously you are in a situation where its unsafe to turn left. Screw the guy behind you that's honking. It's your life that's on the line, not his/her. If it is at a left turn signal, then you shouldn't need to launch fast anyways. Two seconds slower means, possibly, that 1 car might not be able to turn by the end of the left turn signal. Don't expect your feet to be as fast as a computer (I'm sure there are guys on this forum that is to the contrary)

The OP asked the question after 1 week of driving stick - I would say that he should be driving conservatively safe, like as if he just got his license.

There's no shame to granny when you're still new at a skill.

Once you're comfortable, start following everyone's advice to launch faster. At least then you're not panicking when you stall during a quick launch.

edit: this is only relevant to the OPs turning at intersection/ green light portion. Highway entry launch is not considered.
