Leedeth's 1992 Mazda MX-3 RS
Re: Leedeth's 1992 Mazda MX-3 RS Worklog: SS Edition
Here we go, pics of the underbelly.
Left axle probably needs to be replaced soon.
Apparently some mechanic damaged my radiator a bit.

i dont see a single thing wrong with the axle, the boots arent even torn yet. and your radiator isnt damaged, the fins get bent easy, they are thin aluminum

Well it has rust on it.
I know the radiator's not damaged, per say, but the fins are bent so that's a bit of damage. I know it doesn't affect its performance, but it's still damaged.

just because it has rust on it doesnt mean sh1t. its a dd in canada, everything will have rust on it.
theres nothing wrong with your radiator. good luck finding one with every fin intact. they bend when you touch them pretty much, a few bent fins is nothing

You better plan on cleaning under there. Its nasty.
A trick for that: Get one of those sprinklers that attaches to a hose. The one that fans from one side, over itself, and to the other side. Stick it under your car. Tada - ghetto undercarriage. It works like a charm. Though for all I know you actually use car washes and could just go get an undercarriage.

This?
But yeah I'd rather the car wash do the undercarriage, it'd likely do a better job as well. Now I just need to find one that does it.

Just crawl under there and give it a good scrub while it's up in the air.

Yup. Works wonders for those of us who cant (me) or wont (also me) go to a car wash.Leedeth wrote:

I re-bent my front plate. Now I have it hanging like usual except it's bent back, and the part below the numbers is folded up and back on itself. This way I can easily take the plate off anytime.
Pics when I feel like it.

These are the last 2 videos I got before the MX-3 went to the auto-wreckers.

when i got the avenger it was pretty loud and i just figured it was supposed to be that loud. when i went and got new tires before winter (my old ones were almost completely bald) they told me i had a hole in 2 flex pipes (i think thats the correct term) anyway got it fixed and wow its quiet and it actually preforms better.potownrob wrote:looks nice. i'd personally try to keep that for as long as i could keep it running as long as it doesn't become a money pit. even with an mr2 it'd be nice to have that as a second car. i echo the thoughts on the exhaust replacement making the car like new. i had mine replaced and the car went from obnoxiously noisy to absolutely silent and all the other quiet and smooth qualities were noticed again rather than it feeling like the car was old and falling apart.
