Image Me too. Actually, mine was delivered with the DRLs already disabled, and the remote-windows setting seems to have reset itself, and I think I merely softened the seatbelt chime....so, er, maybe not me too. I think I forgot to take my Alzheimer's medication...where am I?

Very nice car Tony. I was considering a Rabbit in October (would have been a 5dr), but both my in-laws have Passats with horrible reliability which put me off VW. I trust the Japanese over the Germans when it comes to electronics :)

I've always thought those front bumper guards look strange on the MkV, particularly when not the body color. That smoke on the side markers looks dark, any light still get through?

edit: Happy Birthday!

Sweet dub brother. I really do like the MkV's, especially in GTI guise, but the Rabbit is cool too. Luckily you got the 170hp VR5 and not the 150hp one. Now for some go-fast goodies to help you break out the fast:

-Chip: REVO, APR, GIAC, UNITRONIC, etc...(be careful with your warranty though. Of course you can reflash back to stock if you need to take it in for warranty repairs, but the chip will only void any part that your Chip might mess up)

-Techtonics Tuning catback with Borla muffler

-Cold Air Intake

Those are some mods that I'm going to be putting into my car. Anyways, nice Rabbit. :)

Werty - I understand reliability issues. Supposedly the MKV's have been the most reliable Dubs so far. Mine's been good. We shall see. As far as the body moldings, I don't mind them a bit. I've seen people shave them and it does look very clean, however. P.S. Thanks for the b-day wishes!

mesaboogie18 - the Dub will remain stock. I bought this car as a daily. For modding, the GTI would have been a better start. This car needs to last me at least 4 years, which is about 115k miles the way I drive. I shall soon have another money pit to throw my money at - a wheeler.

As far as catbacks, I disagree. AWE is by far and away the best sounding catback for the 2.5.

+1. the AWE on the Rabbit truly puts the GTI to shame, as it sounds so much better.

tony, is that the united gray color or do they call it something else for the Rabbit?

I'll answer for Tony, since he's out enjoying his birthday right now with some close friends :D

Yes, it's United Grey, and yes, the AWE sounds sweeeeeet!

there's no cool-sounding dinosaur/chewbacca rumble in the exhaust note.

though I have to give this AWE exhaust a listen now...
