Yeah lol but it actually looks like he downshifts to 4th at 120 :DD
My 4th in the BMW is good until 135 or so.

Subaru on the other hand ... 105. Oh yeah.
The gearing in my car:
1st to 43
2nd to 69
3rd to 100
4th to 144
5th to ~177
6th is useless for top speed

is that a governer chip reason or a lack of road straight/long/without-traffic enough reason?

EDIT: btw, it's rated to top out at 198

that's because there isn't enough power to keep accelerating with that gear, with all the resistance it faces at those speeds.

Precisely, 6th is a second OD gear with my 1:1 in 4th... Car will still accelerate in 5th, but up to the top of 4th it is a rocketship. BTW there is no governer on my car...

DocPHD - I had my 1999 Camaro V6 5-speed up to 130+ (past the speedometer) and did not hit a governor. Only reason I stopped was a patch in the left-rear tire had me worried of a blow-out. :P

Actually his V6 should have had a governor, as GM put them on any car without the Z-Rated tires (even some of the Z28's and B4C cars with the LS1).

My thoughts exactly, Azrael. Not sure where that governor was, but I was past the 125 MPH on the speedometer. :P Maybe 135?
