Greetings!

Post by Big Boss »

I am 17, and a new owner of a '00 Celica GT-S! I can't wait to pick it up.

It's a 6 speed manual transmission and I am a manual virgin. I am very excited, this is my first car. It's blue, and it has some scratches on it and it made some rattling noise when we test drove it, but otherwise in pretty good condition. I've always wanted a manual.

Hopefully I can learn more about cars now that I own one

I like celicas but mostly the older versions, nice choice though! getting good at driving manual is all about time behind the wheel so get out and practice and you'll be working that stick like a pro

Welcome :)
Great choice for a first car. I'd try to hang onto that one for a while.

When I picked up my Legend, it was making a troublesome rattle sound, sounded like the exhaust.
The problem was as simple as bending a paper-thin piece of metal out of the main pipe's way. Now it's silent as night. Ehhh, a quiet night.

It's likely it is something as minor as that.

Thanks guys.

Boy, I was in the market for something economical like a little Civic, but a good conditioned one in manual is kinda hard to find for a cheap price (under 6000 dollars) and I also wanted a RSX, but you know how those things are pretty expensive.

I'm picking it up tomorrow

Trust me, Civics aren't all they're hyped up to be. It's a good thing you didn't go with one of those. :P

EDIT: How much did you get the car for, and did you get it from a dealership, used lot, or private sale?

After some haggling, I think it cost about 5000 dollars, he originally sold it for 5800 or 5900 I think. We bought it from this guy who was selling it for his son who was in college or something. The car was parked in front of this bank and it just caught my eye, and we just set up a time to test drive it this morning.

Welcome aboard! The GT-S is a sweet little car. Does it come with the action pack, or is it just the stock body kit. Oh, and PICS!! :D :D

Welcome! I used to own a '92 with a 2A-FE engne. Great acceleration in second gear and two overdrive gears (4th and 5th). Yes it was a five speed manual.

Had to sell it because it was a total beater and things kept breaking down inside the engine and outside. BUT it was great fun when it worked.

Best of luck with your car :)
Do not try to find 3rd, for you may not always reach it. Just go up and let it reach you!
