Nice car. A few months ago I saw one in yellow, and that was the first time I took notice of it.

Oooooh... Nice car! *drools at the sight of those pictures...*

Actually, before I decided on a goat, I was considering an Impala, a Malibu, or a Cobalt SS. (Not hiding the fact that I'm a Chevy fan, now am I? ) I didn't know that the Cobalt SS had a supercharger...

It probably gets better mileage than my goat will get, but... Hey...
Speaking of which, how many HP does it have? (curious)

The Cobalt SS is just one of many cars on my rapidly growing list of "Cars that I'd love to drive but probably won't ever be able to."

Ah, C'est la vie.

If I do get the goat though, I'll have one of the most kick-ass cars in this town. I've seen a few Camaros, but not many. I've seen maybe 2 Cobalts, one Viper, a couple of Corvettes, and I think somebody had a Cobra... I know if I ever raced that thing, I'd be used to wipe the pavement... For some reason, there are a buttload of Jaguars in this town... I wonder how much HP they have... Or how much they cost...

Once again, welcome to the forum, and congrats on the super cool car.
*puts bucket under chin to avoid flooding room with drool from looking at beautiful car* 8)

Research better. ;)

There are two Cobalt SS's: The Cobalt SS has a 2.4 L, N/A engine, and puts out 174 HP. The Cobalt SS Supercharged is a 2.0L, S/C engine (roots style), and puts out 205 HP. So you were probably only seeing the 2.4.

Would the Cobalt SS rip on the Si, or would i have to break the 300 out to win?

All the articles I've ever read said the SSSC tears the Si up in the quarter mile.

2005 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged
0-60: 6.1s
1/4 mile: 14.4s (Motortrend Dec '05)

2006 Honda Civic Si
0-60: 7.2s
1/4 mile: 15.1s (Edmonds)

2005 Chrysler 300C
0-60: 5.6s
1/4 mile: 14.1s

So the 300C (Stock) would be a good match for it. The SS Supercharged is a beast. :D (Although that Motortrend might be including the Stage 2 upgrade... MT loves to do stuff like that.)

damn , the only reason i ask was because on my way home from school i saw a black one so i caught up to it and then we were both at a light and he rev's so i rev back and then he turns right and im like WTF? im glad we didnt race though..if the SSSC can do 115 in 3rd...

just b/c a car can do X mph in Y gear doesn't mean it can get to that speed quickly. that's all just gearing. i can't even do 60 in 2nd. i can't even do 100 in 4th. does that make my car slow? i think not. :P
