Hey guys,
I've been lurking around on these forums for a while, and just now getting around to registering. I got my first MT today, 2007 Mazda 6i 5MT. I've been learning for a while on a friend's car and it was time I got a new car.(I came from a 1989 Toyota Camry with almost 330k miles)
All the information around here is great. THis is such a great resource. Hopefully there will be pics up tommorrow.

330k miles?!?!?!??!!1
are you sure you didn't mean 2 or 1? thats ridiculous. I've never heard of a car with that many miles.
anyways, have fun. BTW, how many rebuilds have you had to do on that engine?

Yep, 330k miles. We had to rebuild the engine once, around 250k miles. I have a question about going from neutral to first.
If I am at a stop light that turns green, here is my procedure:
1. rev to about 1400 RPM
2. release clutch to friction point
3. add gas to stabilize acceleration and RPM drop while continuing to release the clutch
4. once the clutch is fully engaged, continue acceleration.
I found that gave me the smoothest lauch, I hope it is the correct procedure.
Thanks for your input.
PS:
Sorry there are no pics yet, I haven't been able to get home from work in time to photograph the car with at least some light outside.
