Rotary head saying hi

Post by El Beefo »

Hey, found this site a few days ago and it seems pretty cool. I've got an 88' RX-7 that I got a few months ago. Before it I had some practice with manual, but most of my learing has been in this car. Lately I've been starting to rev match and it really does make my driving alot smoother when done right.

So, are there any other 7's here, or do I have to do all the rotary whoring myself? :D

Welcome to SS.com!

Now this is kinda funny, I have a friend who just got an '88 RX-7...just a while back actually. You don't happen to live in NJ, USA do you?

Btw, I think we have another member with an RX8, not sure though.

I own an 83 RX-7, but she's a total scrap heap. My stepdad said we could work on it together, so we pulled the engine and tranny out, but he couldn't get the flywheel off, and eventually we both sort of forgot about the project.

my dad bought an RX-7 right when they came out. He had to be put on the waiting list to get it. He needed a car, and bought a civic in the mean time, and then a week later, his rx7 came in, and he sold the rx7, losing lie 2 grand on the deal, in order to pay for the civic. He then got a raise a month later, and would have easily had enough to pay for the rx7. Theoretically he would have kept it until now, and then given it to me.

unfortuantely, it didn't turn out that way.

Welcome to the site, El Beefo!
The RX-7 has quite a lot of potential. Any plans for her?
