Disclaimer to the poor confused newbies:
yeah we're crazy, and we get very far off topic sometimes but we do talk about driving stick shift a lot too. It shows how...close....we are around here

SS totally rocks. 8) You'll love it here

I know when I wasn't a part of the community here and only read it, I always thought "wow this seems like a really cool bunch of people." The best forum community I've seen.

My first post :D

I agree completely... I have been browsing the site for a few days now and have never seen a forum with people so eager to help! Great little community you've got here.

i'm not a new member, but i want to say i'm back. (been away for a few days, if you noticed)

edit: i rode on a bus: some old Setra which had like 600 000 mi and the driver double-clutched the upshifts. I noticed he slightly lifted the clutch while he held the stick in neutral, and believe me the bus had a huge stick (pun intended!)

I've seen some busses with manual tranny in Europe. The stick was almost 1m long, from the floor of the bus all the way to almost top of the dash, I can't imagine driving one of those.

older manual tranny buses are used for city transportation or short trips. I also rode on a Scania with opticruise and retarder which had a clutch and some weird automanual transmission.
