What's up everybody!

Post by OveRRev »

Hello everyone,

I was googling some manual-driving tips and I stumbled across this forum. I found some great answers from a lot of people who sound like they know what they're talking about, so I decided to join up!

I'm 17 and I recently got my first car: 5 speed '93 Mazda 626. It's a fantastic machine and a perfect for a new driver like myself. Only a few scratches and dings on her and I'm proud to say none of them are from me. I have only driven stick for about 6 months so I've gotten the hang of it pretty well, but I'm no pro.

Well, just wanted to say "hey" and thank everyone for their support!

Rope Pusher:
Welcome To The Forum,
I Guess You All Know Why We're Here.
My Name Is Rope Pusher
And I’ve been Amish for years

If You Want To Follow Me,
You've Got To Shift On Your Own.
And Push In Your Clutch Pedal
Pull On The Shift Lever
You Know Where To Put The Throttle

Hey You Getting Drunk, So Sorry!
I've Got You Sussed.
Hey You Texting While Driving!
This Is A Bust!
Hey Hung Up Old Mr. Autostick,
Don't Try To Gain My Trust!
'Cause You Ain't Gonna Follow Me Any Of Those Ways
Although You Think You Must

Guests:
We're Gonna Shift It
We're Gonna Shift It
We're Gonna Shift It
We're Gonna Shift It

We're Gonna Shift It
Never Did And Now We Will
We're Gonna Shift It
Gonna Clunk It, Gonna Shake It,
Let's Rev-Match It Better Still

Rope:
Now You Can't Hear Music,
You’re Listening To Your Car.
You Can't Speak Either,
Your Phone’s Turned Off.
You Can't See Texts,
And The Tach Completes The Scene.
Here Comes HolyCow To Guide You To
Your Very Own Machine.

Guests:
We're Gonna Shift It
We're Gonna Shift It
We're Gonna Shift It
We're Gonna Shift It

We're Gonna Shift It
Never Did And Now We Will
It’s Kind of a Religion
And As Far As We Can Tell
We Ain't Gonna Clash It
Never Did And Never Will
We're Not Gonna Clash It
We Synchronize It
Gonna Rev-Match It
Let's Double-Clutch It Better Still.

Rope:
See Me.
Read Me.
Reply to Me.
Bash Me.

Listening To You,
I Get The Music.
Gazing At You,
I Get The Pics.
Following You,
I’m Smoothly Shifting.
I Get Muscle-Memory At My Feet.

Right Behind You,
I See The Ricers.
On You,
I See The Amish.
From You,
I Get Opinions.
From You,
I Get The Story.

I'll see your The Who and raise you some Twisted Sister.

We are gonna shift it
Yes, we are gonna shift it
We are gonna shift it for ourselves

We've got the right to choose it
There ain't no way we'll lose it
This is our drive, we don't clutch wrong
We'll shift a thousand upshifts
Don't pick our ratio 'cause
You don't know us, you don't belong

We are gonna shift it
Yes, we are gonna shift it
We are gonna shift it for ourselves

Autos are awfully boring
Torque converters, go-pedals flooring
We don't want nothin', not a thing from you
Your drive is trite and jaded
Boring, uncomplicated
If that's your best, your best won't do

Whoa...
Whoa...
We're right/yeah
We're free/yeah
We'll shift/yeah
You'll see/yeah

Oh We are gonna shift it
Yes, we are gonna shift it
Oh We are gonna shift it for ourselves

Just you try and stop us
We are gonna shift it
Come on
Yes, we are gonna shift it
You're all worthless and weak
We are gonna shift it for ourselves
Now drop a gear and go
We are gonna shift it
A Pledge pin
Yes, we are gonna shift it
On your uniform
We are gonna shift it for ourselves

We both took existing songs and modified the lyrics, like a Weird Al Yankovic parody except with transmissions.

Speak for yourself, HC. I called up my good buddy Rodger Daltrey and he whipped up a mod on his original lyrics for me.

Sure is. Rush hour is a parking lot. Of course, it's worse in a stick shift

Welcome to SS, I am the resident Porkchop.
Bemvindo a SS, eu sou o residente Porkchop.

Cue wegnome music

Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
entering the Gnome Valley Kingdom
with tangerine trees, and marmalade porkchops.
Someone calls you, you answer with haste,
a man with a clutch in his hand.
Celefane shift boots of yellow and green, towering over your head.
Look for the man with the clutch in his hand and hes gone.
Noob in the land of Gnomes.
Noob in the land of Gnomes.
Noob in the land of Gnomes.
Follow him down to the thread by a fountain.
Where a bunch of men talk about marshmellow pie.
Everyone smiles a you drift around the corner.
Then they all get high.
Clutch holding men appear on the shore, waiting to take you away.
Noob in the land of Gnomes. Noob in the land of Gnomes. Noob in the land of Gnomes.
Picture yourself in a forum of transmissions.
With plastercine cars, and lookingglass Gnomes.
Look to the left and who do you see?
The man with a clutch in his hand.
Noob in the land of Gnomes.
Noob in the land of Gnomes.
Noob in the land of Gnomes
