Welcome back man! Congrats on the new car. Was it you who had a VW (maybe a Rabbit) before?
Aye, however my 325 has a 2.7l engine, as does the 325e and 325es. But, 325i and 325is have the 2.5l. So as you can see, there are slight variances.watkins wrote:Actually that would mean a 3 series with a fuel injected 2.3L engine

Indeed there are. There are no real rules to anything in car naming. The one exception that I can think of is Saab. All models start with a 9, which indicates civilian. This comes from the days when Saab cars and Saab jets were still made by the same company.

How's that working out for Cadillac?paul34 wrote:probably. Who started it? One of the German companies I suppose? Maybe it's time to stop playing catch up to BMW and MB and start setting one's own standard.

I think the 323 had the 2.5 litre I6, IIRC. I believe they named it like this to make the 328 look better. Ok, found it....1974Alfa5spd wrote:I already hate you.Nervous wrote:it's a '95 BMW 323I Convertible.
Jk man, welcome (back).
Using my limited knowledge of deciphering those badges, it's a 3.23L fuel injected inline-6? I'd think that'd be nigh-on impossible to stall!
"The 2.5 L M50B25 used in the 325 models was replaced in 1996 with the 2.8 L M52B28, creating the 328i line. Another 2.5 L engine, the M52B25, was reintroduced in 1998 but the cars were sold as 323 rather than 325."
