Hey look at me I'm introducing myself and you're reading it

Post by eggwich delfiero »

I've been lurking on this site for a few weeks, and I'm really enjoying it. I got a new 5-speed vehicle in February, and a Google search related to doubleclutching led me here. I'm decent enough with a stick shift, have done it for a long time, but I could definitely use improvement on my supposed heel-toe supposed "technique" (the mash n roll). I'm also nerdy enough to be somewhat excited to create a signature to append my messages. Life is good.

Thanks all for the welcome, and happy Fourth of July to all my fellow Americans on here.
Thanks for the kind words, and don't worry, I've been on a few auto forums before this, so my skin has thickened a bit in regard to anti_Mustang sentiments. While I am a Ford fan, I like all different types of cars, and honestly, any car with a manual transmission is pretty fun to drive, in my book.

It's funny, cuz I'm originally from Michigan, where Ford vehicles are everywhere, but I'm now in San Francisco, where you would think the Big Three are Honda, Toyota, and BMW (and yes, I realize that the Big Three have fallen, but I prefer to ignore this fact). Most of the time I see another Mustang it's a rental car.

I'll add a few more pics of My Little Pony on the members rides page in a few minutes. I'm psyched to be here and to learn to drive more effectively.

Porkchop, your blue GTO is sick. I was looking to buy one (blue or black) but the insurance for it for my neighborhood was too crazy. Beautiful car. I guess I'm supposed to say Fordz rule, GM droolz, but I love the GTO. As you may have guessed, I'm a fan of Fieros, too.

I spent most of my years growing up in Plymouth, Michigan, but I also spent a few years in Redford(Plymouth Road and Middlebelt), Ann Arbor(by Cottage Inn Pizza), and Detroit(Corktown), too. My dad lives in Flat Rock too, so I've spent plenty of time there, as well. Ah, Flat Rock, where Mustangs are built (sorry had to throw it in there)

Nope, all of the 2005-2010 are built in Flat Rock. I believe the previous generations were built in Dearborn.

You can figure out your car's birthplace, if it's born after 1980, with this article: http://jalopnik.com/5165656/how-to-decode-your-cars-vin.

If your VIN starts with a 3, it was made in Mexico.
