I'm thinking 1980 Buick with a Quadrajet that's probably never been rebuilt. Man that thing is tough to start.

Drop me a line!
He's making it sound like it's a f**k extracurricular activity, though. "Hey guys, wanna come over to my place and pump the pedals, maybe crank a bit? I know a guy who can rev like there's no tomorrow..."

How are those things that one takes an interest in? It seems on the same order as someone being interested in spraying washer fluid, flipping sun visors, and lowering windows. I just want somebody to make this make sense to me, because I *must* be missing something.

Incidentally, I got dibs on www.pedalpump.com; "Pumping The Pedal of Automotive Websites"

You are missing something. It's a foot fetish, with pedals involved, nothing more. Softcore porn, basically.

I'd definitely have gotten it if he said something to the effect of, "anyone here interested in drag racing?" but the three things he mentioned are all generally performed when a car is stationary.

If only he didn't insist on trying to talk to everyone via IM, maybe he could come in here and shed a little light on the subject in a public forum...

LOL WOW. I was wondering when something like this would pop up.

I like cranking. :D

Someone's YouTube channel is dedicated to cranking: http://www.youtube.com/user/MR180483

There's something about cranking that is really cool.

Like I want my car to take 5 seconds to start instead of starting up right away, and sputter and struggle to start. It sounds cool.

I'll trade you my LeSabre for your Firebird with its one cylinder down. Nothing takes longer to start or requires more pedal pumping than that Buick.

Sorry Grandpa, it's a freakin' Firebird!

My god, it's auto-erotic ( ) / fetishistic obsession. Okay, I don't need to come back here.
