NY STATE: NEED RACING PARTNER: 3 HOUR KART ENDURANCE RACE

Post by gizmo »

I need a partner to race with me in an endurance race at GPNY in Mount Kisco. Sorry fellas, I require someone with serious racing experience, as some of the top drivers there are professionals and I've had the opportunity of racing with them once and I believe with a well qualified partner I might actually have something to offer.

Don't know what you mean by serious experience, but I'm pretty sure the only guy around here with pro experience is Gary.

I would be interested though, never ran at GPNY but heard about it and the track looks awesome. I've done a lot of indoor karting with a local league.

I was hoping you'd be interested but I know it would be a bit of hike for you. I have a driver that's expressed interest but if they cannot commit (I'll know tomorrow) then I'd be willing to take a chance with you.

The team entrance fee is $420.00 (you can view the form) so we would obviously split it (220 a piece).

Question is: how confident do you feel running against some people with professional experience? One of the driver's there is the one who won REVITUP 2007 and there are several others like him with similiar experience.

RACE DATE: 02MAY09 (I believe, I'm double checking that to be sure). If that spot frees up, can you make the drive?

I've never even been to this place myself. I stumbled upon this all last minute. I'm gonna head up there soon to get a bit of practice in beforehand.

It's a possibility.

If those guys are regulars at the track I don't know if I could beat them. But I'm pretty confident I would be competitive.

Will send you a PM soon.

9th of 13. +6 laps. it was ugly. my partners claimed we had a bad kart but I believe we were just outclassed.

Wouldn't call that ugly. I see people get lapped 2-3 times in just 40 laps (less then 20 minutes). There definitely is variance between the karts. I don't know how closely the karts are maintained at gpny, but at my local place, there's typically .5 second difference between the fastest and slowest karts on a 20 something sec lap, and sometimes there's a real dud thats super off pace.
