Daytona

I'm racing at Daytona soon. I'm excited but I'm bummed too. Petty's experience tops out at 140 at a track that easily allows 210. So it'll be a slow ride around the track =/

I'll post a dvd when I get it.

And shortly thereafter I'm going to race a short track (1/2 mile oval 25 degree enbankments) . I'll be doing a lot of laps on the short track and I'm allowed to push it as hard as I can (because I'm responsible for any damages I incur to the car) so I hope to get a video of the better portion of those laps (need to familiarize myself with the car and the track first).

a "stock car".

they claim 500 horsepower but i'd be surprised if they had more than 350.

Very exciting! Have you done any racing or track time before?

I've been to several racing schools, but aside from one brief stint, I've never had the money to race.

My pa used to race. I lost him at too young an age. Kinda dealing with it, or struggling with it if you want to look at it that way, by racing.

I'll get around to a review eventually. Maybe after the semester's over. Until then, hopefully this will suffice:

pretty cool. It actually looks really fast, like almost race speed. I see your hands sawing a bit but not alot so I guess thats scrubbing some speed but not much. The line looks pretty good to me.

Best lap avg. speed was 139 mph, time was 64.78.

As for sawwing at the wheel: I'm supposed to follow the instructor perfectly. And I'm told ahead of time where the instructor will be at all times. But when I get out there, the instructor wasn't exactly where he was supposed to be. So the sawwing is in part due to the instructor's erradic line and the other due to the fact that it takes some muscle to move that wheel and often I wasn't getting a quick enough response to bob and weave with the instructor so I'd have to saw and counter to move in his line.

Either that or I suck.
