Calling all Orlando residents

I'm looking to see about how much more a month I'd have to pay in living expenses if I moved to Orlando, and could really use some finite numbers. Currently, I'm renting a 3 bedroom house (about 1500 sq ft), with full telephone, digital cable, and internet. And, of course, power. :D

I just need to know about how much actual rent is there for a decent place, power bills, cable, insurance, etc. It'll help me a lot when (if) I get to negotiate for a salary. Thanks!

Here's my situation.

2br/2ba "luxury" apartment, $1013/mo rent.
$40 cable, $70 electric, $30 water/sewer, $20 internet (all per month), no telephone.

I split this with my roommate, but you can expect expenses (not including food and gas) to be around $1300-1400/mo.

Hope this helps! Write or call if you need anything else. :)

Also depends tremendously where you want to live in Orlando. Location describes price. John's location is a bit pricey, but i'm assuming it's pretty close to the university...

Where are you looking to live in Orlando?

No idea. I don't know anything about Orlando at all, especially about where is good/bad to live. This is all just hypothetical anyway... I won't start seriously looking until they give me an offer, if they do. No sense in drooling over a meal I might not get to taste. :D

A contraire; I'm actually 10 miles from UCF (and my work, which is across the street). I moved away because while I like the area, it's just too congested when school is in. Also, crime isn't the best around there.

Winter Springs is a little more upscale, but nothing too crazy.

I've got a rather ghetto 2br/2ba about 5-6 miles from the university right now; we pay $850/month for rent, which includes water and basic cable. Another $68 or so for digital cable + DVR + internet and around $140 to $150 for electricity (kill me), no phone since we just use our cells. I'm moving into a 4 br/3ba house in a fairly upscale neighborhood in October, though, that rents for $1450/month, and they say the utilities will be (at the utmost) $100/person (4 people, obv, though I don't know if they have a landline), so about $2000 monthly at the utter top. I'm sure you could find cheaper if you're looking to rent a house, considering how many there are for sale that just aren't selling.

I know this is a bit late considering last post was last year, but I live in Winter Springs, and it is really nice over here :)

Well, now that it's been reawakened . . .

I lived in Shadow Creek for a year, espo92. At Red Bug & Dodd. Whereabouts are you?
