Daniel Craig cannot drive manual
Daniel Craig, the new star of James Bond: Casion Royale, cannot drive a manual transmisson!
THIS IS NOT A GOOD MAN FOR THE ROLE. THEY SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN CLIVE OWEN.
Anyway, here is the report from the SUN:
Bond Craig's ow ow seven
By SEAN HAMILTON
JINXED James Bond star Daniel Craig has been hit by a nasty bout of prickly heat.
He suffered sunburn while topping up his tan before filming in the Bahamas.
New 007 Craig wanted a healthy glow for the movie, but ended up James Burned — and now can’t stop itching.
A source on the Casino Royale set said: “It’s driving him mad. He constantly wants to scratch. It’s worst when he does a costume change. He is in agony.
“He has been moaning to his assistants that he’s got prickly heat. He is extremely wary of being outside now. But the nature of filming is such that he is out in the heat all day.”
We’ve used a little licence to thrill to show how Craig, 37, might look. Since landing the role he has revealed himself as more licensed to be ILL.
Two weeks ago he had two teeth knocked out while filming a fight scene in Prague.
Craig has revealed he can only drive an automatic car — so the traditional Aston Martin DB5 had to be converted.
And he previously confessed he doesn’t like guns, while speedboats make him feel queasy.

What a little p*ssy. This metrosexual doesn't like guns, got his teeth knocked out by a henchman, can't drive manual, and looks "interesting", as noted by Moneypenny.
I was a big fan of Pierce Brosnan as Bond, and I can't believe that he got kicked out. It appears that he didn't want to retire as Bond yet, but they took this guy anyways.

He's cooler, but his girls aren't.scionkid wrote:Jason Bourne is much better. He can boost a stick shift cab in Moscow while attacking 2 cops using a bottle of vodka. The dude can kill anyone using everyday stuff that we can buy. James Bond has to rely on fancy weapon hidden in everyday stuff.
The Bourne car scenes are some of the best I've seen.

I'm sure if Audi offered a manual transmission for their A8 6.0 W12, Frank Martin (the guy from The Transporter) would have used just that. He had a stick shift BMW 7-series in the first movie, if you remember correctly. Lucky Europeans... they get a big executive sedan with a manual transmission. I guess the engineers at BMW figure that the people who buy the 7-series in America are too lazy to shift for themselves.
Back on topic... I think Daniel Craig would be alright as the new Bond, but I would have preferred Clive Owen or someone else. Converting an old DB5 to an automatic should be considered heresy, though. If Aston wanted that car to have an automatic, they would have offered one.
I just thought up a new "audition test" for the next Bond actor: fling them the keys to the DB5, and have them drive it around the streets or something. It's a car from the early 60's, so I doubt it has synchros or anything else to make driving it easier. If they can drive it for an hour without stalling more than 3 times, then they should be considered for the job.

hey man thats the producers of the movie fault, he drove a stick in the first Transporter. He may not have driven one in transporter 2 but the guy can drive stick in real life.LS1Leader wrote:
He drove an autostick Audi in the last Transporter. That's not forgiveable.
in my opinion any action hero has to know how to drive a stick shift. they're supposed to be experts in every thing that is cool. Take the fast and the furiouse for example. all the lead roles went through a driver school to ensure they were the real deal when filming. The asian chick in the second one didnt even know how to drive a car before filming, but by the time filming came around she was better than most of us.

Yes it was, Sypher. Not only did he get the speed, angle, and spin JUST right to knock the bomb off, but he jumped from the top floor of a parking lot, landed in a half-finished building, and did about 5 spins before coming to a halt mere millimeters away from the edge. But then again, the first movie wasn't known for its realism either.
What I also hated about The Transporter 2 was the gunplay. The Glock18's that the chick was using in the doctor's office had an endless supply of bullets, when those magazines are clearly 30-rounders (I know lots about firearms too...) She also shot down a police helicopter with it... never mind. I'm getting off topic.
