Probably not...........but it is always a good idea to take a first driving lesson with an automatic (but it should be brief..............save all the teaching time for manual later)

WTF!
I had my first lesson at the start of january, and I was on the road, driving about happily within half an hour. Am I doing something wrong?

you don't "learn manual before automatic".
Once you know manual you know both.

Mostly true. But u still need to learn what those letters (P,R,N,D,2,1) by the automatic gearshift stand for though
