Off hand don't have information for my '02 Subaru Forester, just got a '97 Dodge Dakota V6 5 speed manual.
I believe these are the ratios for the Dodge:

1st - 3.83
2nd - 2.33
3rd - 1.44
4th - 1.00
5th - 0.79
Rev - 4.22

When I did the math I believe I have the AX15 transmission as at 65 mph in 5th I'm turning around 2150 rpm. I found
I have the 3.21 axle ratio and used that number in the calculation. I like having the higher (numerically lower) gears,
most of the Dakotas seem to be 3.55 or 3.92.

Surprisingly hard to find the exact numbers with a quick google search.

But the for the gear ratios, I keep finding the 5 speed manuals numbers, not the 4 speed autos numbers. Maybe I'll try to search more later. Regardless.. the Fiesta is there.

Interesting that there is no direct drive. I always thought that was the easiest one and am curious why the manufacturer woudl leave it out. They could achieve same by revising the ratios, and including direct drive, and just adjust final drive ratio some. Also 4th is not that far off from direct drive.

I asked essentially the same question some time ago:

I got that beat. I've got 3 overdrive gears!

Taken from the Sonic forums:

1st: 3.82 at 6000 rpm = 32 mph. Shifting from first to second at 6000 rpm is a 2790rpm drop.

2nd: 2.05 at 6000 rpm = 59 mph. Shifting from second to third at 6000 rpm is a 2247 rpm drop.

3rd: 1.30 at 6000 rpm = 94 mph. Shifting from third to fourth at 6000 rpm is a 1584 rpm drop.

4th: 0.96 at 6000 rpm = 127 mph. Shifting from fourth to fifth at 6000 rpm is a 1401 rpm drop.

5th: 0.74 at 6000 rpm = 165 mph. No one has enough power to need to worry about shifting into sixth at 6000 rpm.

6th: 0.61 at 6000 rpm = 200 mph

I think it would be fun to change my ratios from

3.72, 2.20, 1.50, 1.00, 0.79 @ 3.73 final drive

to

4.40, 2.50, 1.65, 1.00, 0.72 @ 3.73 final drive

I could still wind first gear up to 25 mph (instead of 30) at 5000 rpm and my highway rpm at 70 mph would drop from about 2750 to about 2500.

Agreed, I like wide range and wide ratios. Makes my shifts worthwhile and lets me operate equally well at a wide range of speeds.

Assuming that the ID label was accurate and any previous rebuilds did not include any different ratios, I've got:
3.76
2.18
1.42
1.00
0.72
Reverse unknown.
Final drive/differential/axle/rear end (depending on your preferred terminology) either 2.73 or 3.08 (I think 2.73).
205/75-15, 215/75-15, or 225/75-15 tires.

I guess that makes my 1st seem tall but it's good, I don't have to ride the clutch to launch and there's plenty of power to destroy tires if I want. 5th can be used from 45 (with not a lot of torque to spare) but I worry about oil pressure and try to wait until I get over 60.

The VW I had had a gear for every speed, and that gear was 5th. In this car I have a different gear for every speed, which I like.
