The complete lack of gauges drives me crazy. Hence my ongoing installation of oil temp/pressure, and voltage in addition to my previously installed boost gauge.

Well, good example right here:
2005 GMC Yukon XL Denali
120MPH Speedo (optimistic)
Tach
Fuel Level
Volts
Oil Pressure
Engine Temperature
Transmission Tempurature

I'm surprised it doesn't have a driver butt temperature gauge.

1. People aren't willing to pay more for it.
2. Manufacturers don't want to cover warranty service for car-hypochondriacs who freak out every time their gauges don't read as they expect.

For $160 you can have the computer with all those gauges for any 1996 or newer car. It's called the ScanGauge II and does everything you asked for.

8000 rpm. Max HP is at 7900 rpm so I have to rev it up to get any sort of power. There's absolutely nothing under 2000 rpm which is sort of annoying when I roll through a yield sign in 2nd at 1000 rpm.

I believe my 3 redlines at 6500, I don't go up there that often though.

Did I read that correctly, that you have a single 'combo gauge' that does oil temp and pressure? I want one. Where'd you get it?

Nope, I just didnt feel like typing "oil" twice. Im just that lazy. I have two independent gauges, but the oil temp isnt hooked up because I cant get it through the firewall at the moment. Its only a 6' temperature probe on it, and theres no way to even get it through the firewall at the power distribution box. Not that it will reach the engine from there.

I knew I should have shelled out for some electronic gauges
Whatever. Come springtime Ill just bust out a drill.

I learned from dad that the indicated redline doesn't apply anymore. You can take it off the tach and it won't let go. The mechanic that built the engine said "You can not destroy this engine." So that means my redline is about 8500-9000. Although a lot more is going to be happening before then.

Like many Fords mine does not indicate a redline on the tach and the tach goes to 6000. I have had it up to 6000, and perhaps a tad higher, where I hit the rev limiter. Power-band-wise my best shift point for quick acceleration is 5500 for the 1-2 and about 5000-5200 for 2-3 and 3-4.

Redline is relative. It depends on duration. The longer you will stay at the certain speed, the lower the redline.

I think Clifford redlines around 6300. It's fun hitting the rev limiter because the car will just hold there without bouncing. He just won't accelerate any more.

Redline starts at 6400rpm on the gauge. I don't know what actual fuel cutoff is. ~6800 maybe?
Two pedals, two feet, too easy.
